Time for Tea
Gillett & Johnston have always been great advocates of tea time so when we were asked to work on a recent restaurant clock located just off Piccadilly Circus our engineers jumped at the chance. There was a very short time frame but we rose to the challenge despite it being our busiest month of the year and installed the beautiful clock in time for the grand opening.
The bespoke design was created to give a French Bistro style and our sign writer painstakingly re-created the design all by hand on to the dial. There is no room for error with paint and John showed what a steady hand he has when wealding his craft.
The restaurant as described by themselves is ‘A grand Parisian brassiere transported to the heart of London, serving remarkable value, traditional French food in a historic Beaux Arts/Art Deco interior.’
The beautiful interior of the restaurant shows off the clock to its full extent and although the surrounding area is very busy our engineers are well used to the London hustle and bustle, most of them being Londers themselves.
The dial was inset to a wooden frame so really shows off the craftsmanship. The restaurant is a great success and our clock is happily ticking down the minutes and hours to Tea Time. For more information please leave a comment below or, if preferred, use the contact form.
